Photographs, music and words by Keith Whiddon inspired by the beauty and mystery of this world
December and January at SpArC Theatre Gallery, Bishop's Castle
The Preview Evening Tuesday 5th December
Review by Brian Carrington:
"I went to see Keith Whiddon’s exhibition last night at SPARC Bishops Castle
He has put together a remarkable set of his photographs with some fascinating written script. The photographs sit in three themed sections. “Our world” “Lost worlds” and “Other World”. There are hints of Robert Macfarlane here!
The scripts are short easy to read and ‘hit the spot’ describing the history, the deep connection with Keith himself and what he is about. He takes us to places that few of us have, or will, ever see.
There are QR codes to hear the very beautiful music, played by Keith, on your mobile devices.
You are left wanting to climb inside some of the images.
Truly worth going to see.
It’s available to view until the end of January. Don’t miss it."
The world is full of awe-inspiring places. There is wonder to be found all around you should you only look. Beauty, majesty, history, drama, humour, tragedy - the stories are everywhere and are captivating. With an explorer's zeal Keith has amassed photographs, words and music that have a special significance for him because of the stories they tell. They are taken from 3 of his favourite 'worlds':
- Our World - Bishop's Castle through the seasons;
- Lost Worlds - abandoned but not forgotten;
- Other Worlds - underground worlds - journeys in liminal space.
QR codes will enable visitors to the exhibition to access
specially created music and words to accompany the photographs.
The exhibition is also
accompanied by a website which will be launched at the Preview Evening.
